June, I don't know the answer to your question, but can say that the Lopers in this area were from Colleton County, SC, in the 1770-1820 era. Before that, I think they gradually moved south from Dutch (NY?) origins several generations before. If you type "Colleton" in the search box, it will provide some of this history.
