Loper Family Genealogy Forum
For those people researching the Lopers of Greenup, Kentucky and Lawrence, Ohio, the results of the DNA tests are back. Enoch and Thomas Jefferson Loper have a common male ancestor approximated 9 generations back. (Or it could be more.) Remember this is a straight Male line that goes from son to father to grandfather, etc. So, if Thomas Jefferson was really a Bailey, somewhere in his past he must connect with a male in the Loper line, or vice versa." The other two Lopers that come from this area are John and George, both of whom migrated to Vinton and Hocking counties Ohio,. They do not match. This does not
mean they are not related, it just means that the males arenít. Possibilities are adoption, unwed mothers, etc. So a lot of work still needs to be done. There is still a connection between these 4 Loper lines that indicate that they knew of each other, and possibly raised as
relatives. There is still a possibility that a female in all these lines are related, but there isnít a way to test this accurately at this time.
