Anna Lorentz was born either in 1701 or 1711, depending on the source you find, in Switzerland; her husband Jacob was born in what is now Alsace in 1712. She died in September of 1757 during an Indian attack, in which (legend has it) she was scalped by a white-hating Indian named Tom Lions.
