Generation two: Proof of Information is always important in genealogy. A list of names will not do if there is no evidence of a relationship. For this reason informationabout son Stephen Loseymust be referred to here.
STEPHEN LOSEY
There is an old book dated 1893(the link is above) that says that Stephen's
father is Amos Losey. It also says that Amos Losey came to the United States from Germany.
Stephen Losey as Stephen Locy served in the War of 1812. He served under Captain Isaac Linn. Captain Linn and his men served under Colonel Hill. These men joined in Fayette County, PA.Here is another old book. There are records of this service in this old book . Two links to these records are listed here:

Because of his service Stephen Losey obtained land in Davis County, IA.

These individual records have been collected to show proof that Stephen Losey buried in Davis County , IAwas in Fayette county, PA.
Children that are listed in Stephen Losey's will written in Davis County, Iowa:
Amos W. Losey, AnasJones, Reuben W. Losey, Abigal Henderson, Arrison S. Losey, George W. Losey, Miriah A.
Hollett, Hariet E. Hubbartt.
From the will we get this information:
Saby (Anas) Losey married John Jones
Abigail Losey married Ebenezer Henderson
Maria Losey married John Hollett
Harriet Losey married James Hubbartt
Generation two:Where these people lived is important.Stephen Losey was born in New Jersey, lived in Fayette County, PA and Tuscarawas County, OH.He went to Davis County, IA
and died there.James Locy was born in PA , lived inTuscarawas County, OH and died there.
James Locy's sons moved to Davis County, IA near the same time that Stephen Losey moved to Davis County, IA.Amos Loseywas born 1800in PA and lived in Tuscarawas County, OH.He died in OH. One of Amos Losey's sons lived in Davis County, Iowa.Seiley Locy was found on the 1810 census in Fayette County, PA.He was older thanJames Locy. There is no other record ofSeiley Locy so he probably died in Fayette County, PA.
Samuel Locy was found on the 1820 census in Fayette County, PA.Peter Locey was born in PA and lived in Wood County, Ohio.Peter Locey died in Ohio.
DNA is showing that Amos Losey b. 1800andPeter Locey of Wood County,OH have the same Haplogroup. This does not match the Haplogroup of those testing forthe Losey family with the Zeeland,Netherland connections ( Cornelius Janezen Loyse, Cornelius Lossje). Also, sincethe elder Amos Locy (probably also called Peter Locy of Fayette County, PA) came to the United States directly from Germanyhis parents could not beJamesLosey and Mary Seeley.
The Peter Locey family from Wood County, OH say that they are of German origin.
This means that by DNA the Amos Losey b. 1800 was also of German origin.
Myrtle Losey Anderson, dauther ofJohn Losey, grand daughter of Perry Losey anda great granddaughterofJames Locy of Tuscarawas County, Ohio says that her dad John Losey said that the Losey family was Pennsylvania Dutch (this means they were of German origin).
Lyle Owens' Aunt Myrtle said that her grandfatherJames Marion Losey was a cousin toPerry Losey. James Marion Losey's father wasAmos Losey b. 1800.Perry Losey's father wasJames Locy buried in Tuscarawas County, OH.
The conclusion I draw from this is that all of thenames listed above were of German origin.
John H. Whitewas the person that originally tried to linkPeter Locy on the 1800 census to
Jacobus James Loseyand Mary Seley. He tried to change what Herbert F. Seversmith had said aboutthosedescending from Cornelius Janezen Loyse and Cornelius Lossje. I have the records of Herbert F. Seversmith.. I also have part ofJohn H. White's letter to Mr. Seversmith.
John H. Whiteoffered no proof when assuming thatJames Losey and Mary were the parents ofPeter Locy of Fayette County, Pennsylvania. All that he was going by was the nameSeiley Locy in Fayette County, PennsylvaniaandJames Locy's sonSela/Cela Losey.Sela is probably a German name and has nothing to do with Mary's last name.In letters to my mother John H. White said "this is all conjecture".
