Vital Records of Weymouth, MA report that Jacob Loud married Lydia Joy on 17 May 1772. This couple also had at least 2 children born in Weymouth:

Capt. Jacob 16 Dec 1773
Polly 13 Nov 1781

Descendants of both these children appear to have remained in the Weymouth area, tending to discount a family move to Maine.

It seems rather unlikely to me that Capt. Charles Loud, b. abt 1766 could have been their child. He was likely born before their recorded marriage date.
