These columns on the Louds appeared in the _Boston Transcript Genealogical Columns_. I saw these today at NYPL, and I'm reproducing them chronologically.

(*3455) Can anybody satisfactorily connect the following names or furnish information leading to some solution of the same.
1. Loud. William Loud of Boston (wife Priscilla makes a will in 1690, probated same year at Boston, previously to his departure with the expedition to Canada, where he evidently died. (The first Indian War). (Suffolk County. Probate Court, vol. viii, pages 13, 14 and 188.)
2. Loud. William Loud of Portsmouth, who married Abigail Abbott in 1708 and had children--John, William, Solomon, Thomas, David, Sarah, Abigail and Benjamin.
3. Loud. Francis Loud of Sagadahoc, Me. (wife Sarah, who was driven out by the Indians during King Philip's War, and removed to Ipswich, where Francis, Jr., was born July 26, 1700. G.D.L.B.

(592.) LAUD. The Laud Genealogy states that "Francis Laud and his brother came from Scotland." What was his brother's name and where did he settle? Could he have been the William Loud of Portsmouth who married "Abigail Abiet" in 1708-09, or could William have been a son of Francis? Francis, Jr., was born in Ipswich, in 1700. I should be glad of any information concerning this William Laud. D.B.B.H.
