I'd be glad to help but will need more information. Most of my data concerns Louds in New England and New York and I do not find a record of a Loud person teaching at West Point. It is a surprisingly uncommon surname so the chances are very good that your grandmother's ancestors came from N.E. at some time. Do you have any census records of New York that would provide your great-grandfather's name?
