Loughney, origins and contacts

Hello all Loughneys out there.

Potentially we must be one of the smallest world families in existence. We do not have a common surname, but I suppose you all know that already. I am in Liverpool UK and would be interested to hear from anyone in general but specifically with regard to the origins of the name and the family. My limited investigations show the most early records are from Co Mayo. Can anyone confirm or add to this. Looking forward to your replies, love and very best wishes.

Chris b.1961

married to: Lisa, children: Sean(9), Megan(8) and Holly(5). My Father: Francis Joseph Loughney b 1931- Liverpool, married Dorothy ne. Burke, My Uncle: Michael Loughney b.1933-Liverpool, My Grandfather: Michael Loughney aprrox 1885-1930, b. possibly Liverpool.
