Thanks for that information. Have you checked Monica's message about a Loughney web site at this forum? If not, just put Monica in the search bar and hit enter or click on the button. You should get 8 choices. Select the one that has the corrected web address. Once there, click on the Loughney name and scroll down the page. She has a coat of arms displayed there that looks like the one you've described in your message. When I asked here about it, she told me she thought that it was Scottish in origin.

In any event, as I have learned, the Loughneys are indeed a small clan. I have corresponded with a number of Loughneys in the US, but have yet to find any who are directly related to my family from Pittston, Pa.
