Re; Leo, Mary and Tommy Loughney

I am one of the Pittston Loughneys. I left there almost 40 years ago but I do remember Leo and his family. As an aside, I have been living on the New Jersey Shore for the past 35 years.

Leo and my dad used to travel together before they were married. My understanding is that Duke Golden was the thrd member of the threesome. I remember Leo as a very short quiet man. I would guess that he was about 5'7". Mary was a pretty blond girl also on the short side. I believe she graduated from St. John's High School, Pittston. It is now called Seton Catholic. I am the second oldest of nine so Mary must have been in one of our classes. Seton Catholic has a very strong Alumni Society. This may be a good place to find Mary's address.

Tommy was a nice kid. He also finished at St. Johns and was a Sophmore or Junior at the University of Scranton when he died. It was a boaing/drounding accident if I recall.

There were a lot of Loughneys in Pittston and there still is. It seems that all Loughneys thought they were related but no one apparently took it seriously as to what type of cousins they were. So I'm in no position to guess who if any of the other Loughneys in town were relatives of Leo.

I'll try to reconstruct some of my remembrances of the Pittston Loughneys and forward them to you at some future date.
