Tonight I came across Genealogy.com. I was greatly surprised to see an inquiry regarding my great-uncle Charles Alton Loutzenhiser. He was my grandfather's brother. My grandfather was Pardon Christopher Loutzenhiser, Sr. They are both buried in the Minatare Cemetery in Minatare, Nebraska. Uncle Charlie married Mamie Lavelle and his brother, Pardon, married Cora Lavelle (two brothers married two sisters.)
I did however notice that on one message it was stated that the only child of Charles and Mamie, Alton Charles, to live to adulthood was born in 1925, not 1902 as listed.. Alton did married Marjorie Schuck whom he met in England while serving in the U.S. infantry. They did have eight children in the following order: Ronald, Mary, Michael, Linda, Jan, Ann, Janet, and Melody.
Alton tragically drowned on August 7, 1969 at Lake Minatare at the age of only 44.
Also the years given for and infant daughter "born about 1927" to Charles, Sr. and Belle Loutzenhiser cannot be correct. As my grandfather, Pardon, already was the father to 5 children (my father being born in 1916.) The infant daughter had to have been born much earlier.
Now back to Charles, Jr. and Mamie's children. The twins could not have been born around 1906. Possibly their birth year was 1926. I know nothing of a sibling Eleanor.
That's all, but I would love to know and hear more. Mike Loutzenhiser (Alton and Marjorie's son) lives around Gering, Nebraska as do most of their children.
