It could be just coincidence, but...

My grandfather was Alrik Julius LOVGREEN born 16-Feb-1883 in Åsbo, Skeninge (now Skänninge) församling in Östergötland lan in Sweden. The spelling was changed to "Lovgreen," when he came to America. His brother, Karl Frederick or "Fred" changed his to "LOVEGREN."

Their father, Per Otto or "P.O." Löfgren/Lövgren was a skohandlaren or shoe maker and merchant. (I've seen it spelled both ways). Anyway, P.O. was born 27-July-1856, also in Åsbo, Sweden. His first wife was Johanna Mathilda Persdotter WALLER born in 1842. I do not have her birthplace. Waller does seem to be a more common name in England, than in Sweden.

With the similarities in names, occupation and countries perhaps there is a common thread. If I can find P.O.'s parents or grandparents, perhaps we'll find a connection with your Robert Lovegreen.

Best of luck,
