I know for sure that James and Synthia (spelling?) had 4 sons--Jefferson, Phillip, William and John--and at least 1 daughter--Cynthia. They may also have had a daughter, Maria. I don't know anything about William, so I'm wondering if he died before adulthood. Jefferson served in the Civil War and died in Crystal, Michigan, in 1879. Cynthia married Lewis Valentine in 1864 and died in Benton Harbor, Michigan, in 1925 and is buried in Morton Hill Cemetery there. I don't know when or where James died, but I do know he was still living somewhere in or near Goshen, Indiana in 1879. I hope this fills in some missing pieces for you. Is there anything else about James and his family that you know?
