JOHN LOVERIDGE: BUCKS MILITIA
My ggg Grandfather was John Loveridge, once Sgt Major of the Bucks Militia, and one of the thirteen members of the Corporation of the Duke of Bucks (the Corporation controlled the vote for the region until reforms in the mid 1800s). I have John's probated will, dated 1843, and I know a fair bit about the family, but I cannot find the name of his first wife, nor anything about his parents.
John married three times, the first time to Anne, probably around 1790.Their first child, Esther, was born in Bristol in 1791, so there is a possibility that Anne was a Bristol native, and a possibility that John and Anne married somewhere in Gloucestershire.John and Anne's first son, William, was not born until 1809 (in Nottinghamshire).Given the family use of names, I would think that John's father was either John or William, and that perhaps Anne's father was either William or George. The three names figure prominently, even given their popularity at the time. After the death of Anne, John married Mary Anne Perkins in 1821 (and if anyone can point me back along her family tree, I would be appreciative) and Elizabeth Seeley in 1838 (although Elizabeth died later the same year).
any information concerning any of these names would be most appreciative, either at Genuforum or directly to
