This may be a bit of a long shot, but here goes anyway.
In my wife's family, David Loveridge married Louisa Yates Joyce in Newport Pagnell, Bucks on 9 Sep 1850. They had two children Henry Manasseh Loveridge and Albert Loveridge. We have been unable to trace Albert. Henry married Elizabeth Ann Beeching in 1873 in Nottingham. They had six children in Nottingham born between 1875 and 1887. (For more detail see my message of 25 Nov 01).One of these, Arthur William Loveridge was my wife's grandfather. He had 3 children, Daisy Margaret, Albert Henry, and Florence Lucy. Interestingly, whilst we have not been able to locate Henry's brother,Albert, we have a 1930s? postcard to our Florence Loveridge from "uncle Ernest". The postcard is a photo of Ernest. Ernest is either a Loveridge or a Clearey. He is shown in Army uniform (sergeant) serving in India. The only other clue we have about Albert is that Daisy Margaret Loveridge corresponded in the 1940s with an aunt in Canada. Again this could be a Loveridge or a Clearey.
I note that Warwick and Nottingham are not all that far apart.
I hope this is useful. If it is the wrong family please let us know so as we can discount your Ernest.
