Hello again Dick,
I was told from the time I was very young that Ellen Loya (younger sister of Thomas Jr., Mary, and Emma) was a full-blood Native American. My paternal grandmother, Ellen Bruce (grandaughter of Ellen Loya), remembers going to some sort of tribal gathering as a young girl, and my father still makes a homemade cough remedy that he remembers Ellen (his ggrandmother) and Elizabeth LaPine (his grandmother and Ellen's daughter) making for him as a kid.
