Hi Pat,

After I got your gedcom I tried to find Doaner on my ftm cds. There were only a couple. But, there are a lot of Doners. Doner is a fairly common Canuck name. Could it be that your Doaners were really Doners? Have you been able to trace the Doaners? But again, that may be another clue. Andrew Doaner might have been a full blood who took the surname Doaner. In that case, he may be the start of a surname line.

We have to do some checking to see if we can find a Doaner line in the Vt.-NY area so we can talk to them about this. Hope you are not as confused as I am.---Cuz Dick
