Hi Dick and Pat,
Just some thoughts on the Doner name. I have run into several different spellings. I have seen it spelled Doner, Donor, Donner, Doaner, and Donah. I believe it is simply human error -- the town clerks or whoever was recording the documents just spelled the name the way they thought it sounded. I'm quite sure it is supposed to be Doner, at least this is the way it has appeared most often in the documents that I have seen. Anyway, we are all looking for the same family of Doners, so we need to establish the correct spelling so we can start that new page and get in touch (hopefully!) with the right Doner line. By the way, do either of you know for sure if Lucy and Jessie were related? Because Jessie was born in Benson, which is 10 mins. up the road from my house.
