Hi All----Sorry about that, but I thought everyone had this!!!!!
Andrew Doner born Chazy, N.Y. married
Nancy Patnode Loya-born Benson, Vt.
daus. Lucy Doner born-Champlain, NY
Jessie Doner-born Unknown

I picked the above info up from forum postings and a gedcom file I got from Pat. I have no further info on Thomas, Sr.

Looking at the info I have, it appears that the family was quite mobile and moved back and forth from NY to Vt. frequently. Keep in mind that we are talking about people that we think are at least part Indian. Their lifestlye was probably quite different from ours. Also, they had relatives in both areas. Most importantly, they had the Abenaki super highway into Vt. from Lake Champlain-Otter Creek; very navigatable(is this a word?) for small boats and canoes all the way to Rutland, Vt. and beyond.

The Lucy-Jessica bit puzzles me. Were they really sisters? Probably, But then Jessica might have been much younger that Lucy since she married Lucy's son Thomas who was Jessie's nephew. There were probably other siblings born between the two. Where are they?

My Mary Loya, born 1870 married William Merritt. I know of two children of Williams.
1. Charlotte born 1882 in Middlebury, Vt. Did Mary give birth at age 12? Very possible.
2. Harry B. Merritt born March 8, 1888 in Orwell, Vt. He Was delivered by his 14 yr. old uncle Thomas Loya, Jr. during a terrible blizzard. So, what was Thomas doing in Orwell?

I just realized something.......Could Jessica be the Aunt of Mary that I talked about before? Did she sit in front of the kitchen stove smoking a corncob pipe? Did she and Thomas, Jr. live in the woods near Mary/s home in Shoreham, Vt. I have an autographed (F. Van Wyck Mason-an author) copy of the "History of the Town of Shoreham Vermont, by Rev. Josiah F. Goodhue" that I found in a junk shop in Ticonderoga last year. Haven't read it-wanted to keep it undamaged. But, I see know that I must. Will discuss it later.

Just a few things to chew on. Gotta go get the beasties in and fed.

Keep hunting,
Cuz Dick
