Dear Michael,
Which LaPine are you looking for? My maiden name is LaPine and my grandparents were from Vermont. Just one catch: my father was adopted. His adopted name was Leo J. LaPine (his adoptive parents were Joe & Lottie Merritt LaPine. Joe had a brother named frank who's wife was named Ellen. Frank died in RI in 1934.Joe also had sibling Annie.) His name at birth was Robert Beaudry and I can't find anything on his parents: Robert and Catherine Gosselin Beaudry. They lived in VT around Cornwall or Rutland area.
I'm really interested in this because on my mother's side I am a Swenor and my great-aunt married a Loya. Also, my father's mother, Lottie LaPine's mother's name was Mary Loya Merritt Atwood, born 7/17/1870. So even though my dad was adopted, his adoptive grandparents are related to me on my mother's side.
