A biography of P.E.L. Ludke, Fairview, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 1114. Father: August Ludke, born in Germany, and immigrated to the US with his wife, Miss Stone, in 1880 and located in Minnesota as a sheep and cattle raiser, and later a farmer.
P.E. Ludke set up a homestead in Douglas County, Washington. In 1904, he sold his ranch and migrated to Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada, where he opened a clothing store ane in 1909 chartered a bank. In Nov 1914, he moved to Lambert, MT, and set up the Farmers State Bank of Lambert. In Jun 1915, he located to Fairview, MT, where he purchased the controlling interest of Security State Bank.
On 3 Mar 1908, Pincher Creek, Alberta, P.E. Ludke married Miss Mary Gabert, born 31 Dec 1888, Walkerton, Ontario, daughter of Charles Gabert.
Ludke children: Charles, Billie, Dorothy.
