I was quite delighted when I received a responce to my posting on the Ludwig. I did some checking through my notes and verified for sure that your Andrew and my Andrew are the one and the same. My notes said Andrew was born in 1814, however I had nothing on his death. Catherine though was the final proof. I have her birth and death dates as 1826,and 1897 as taken off her tomb stone. The proof was on her tomb stone and I will write it as it is written on her stone. Andrew's stone is almost unreadable. Across the top it reads Our Dear Mother. Under that is a cross through a crown. Under that is her name. Catherine Ludwig, Beloved wife of Andrew Ludwig andW.H.Lindlay. March 2nd 1926--- Sept.11th 1897. It was the name Lindlay that clintched it. It seems Lindlay was not her maiden name but her married name from her second husband. Next to both of their graves and very close on Andrews side is a small marker for August a child. There seems to be several children as well as several adults buried with them. One being my GGG Grandfather John Ludwig born Dec. 14,1820, and died March 05, 1867. He Married Catherine M. Miller. I am assumeing at this point, as I have no proof of the connection, that in as such that John and Andrew were buried in the same plot and their ages were so close together, they were brothers. I hope to hear more from you. With the info you have and the little I have, We can make some headway on their story. Regards Kyle R. [email protected]
