Hi Jan,
Thanks very much for the information, there are certainly bits and pieces here that I didn't previously have. I'm still having a job getting back beyond William Luffrum (b.abt.1883), but bearing in mind the rarity of the Luffrum surname and it being almost exclusive to the Brentford area, there must be a simple connection somewhere here!
Regarding the unnamed son of Alfred and Emma Luffrum b.abt.1881, unless he died between 1881 & 1901 the only candidate is 'my' William Luffrum.
Incidentally, have you found your Alfred and Mary Luffrum (nee Woodman)in the 1901 Census yet? If you haven't been able to find them it's because they're shown as 'Suffrum' not Luffrum! The family is shown as follows:
Alfred Suffrum30b.Brentford res.BrentfordGen.Labourer
Mary Suffrum28b.Brentfordres.Brentford
Alfred Suffrum3b.Brentfordres.Brentford
Phillip Suffrum2b.Brentfordres.Brentford
There's also an Ellen Suffrum shown on a different page, age 22 b.Brentford,res.KewDomestic Servant
Best wishes,
Alan Hutchins
