Anne Marie, Is your Elijah Lumpkin the father of Jesse Lumpkin that was in the 18th Ga. Infantry? My A.J. Lumpkin was in the 18th Ga. also. I know that A.J. had a brother Jesse that eventually went to Texas. I believe my Floyd County Ga. Lumpkins have to be kin somewhere, but i am stuck at A.J. for right now. I know his father was E. Lumpkin, but i think it is going to be Edmon or Edmond.

If our Lumpkins turn out to be kin somewhere along the line, it may be the reason our Jesse ended up in Texas and may give me place to start searching for him.

The Jesse Lumpkin that i read about being Elijahs son, if my memory is correct, was killed in the civil war and was a true hero.

Would be interested in staying in touch with you as my research progresses. Thanks for your posting. Phil
