Nathaniel Lumpkin who married Judith Bohannon lived not so far up Sandy Creek from the 765-acre Bellegrade estate of Col. Nathaniel Wilson (son of Col. John Wilson who died in 1820). Beavers Mill (see website was between the two estates on the old road west out of Danville.

Nathanielís daughter Isabella G. Wilson married Henry Hopson Wilson, who was a son of Gov. Wilson Lumpkin of Georgia. Their son was Nathaniel Wilson Lumpkin (b 5 Apr 1852) who married Alice Hawkins operated a livery stable in Danville.
George Lumpkin (1723-1800) left Pittsylvania with his son and one-year-old grandson Wilson Lumpkin in 1784 for the area that became Atlanta. The city was first named Marthasville after Wilson Lumpkinís daughter. Col. John Wilsonís wife Mary was a daughter of the elder George Wilson, making Isabella Wilson and Henry Hobson Lumpkin first cousin. It gets very confusing, so let me know when you find the parents of the first mentioned Nathaniel.
