Jean,
Leroy and Velma Penton Lumpkin had two daughters and a son. One of the girls was Delores Lumpkin and she married John Bearden. They lived away from Carriere on the Gulf Coast. A few years ago Johnny (Jr) and his family were living in Leroy and Velma's homeplace which is on the road leading up to First Baptist Church, across from the old Weimann house. Delores and John's younger son, Carey, died in an automobile accident in New Orleans and is buried in Carriere's First Baptist cemetary. I don't think Delores and John are buried there but they might be. Leroy and Velma's other daughter, Lavonnie, as of last year, was living at Hide A Way Lake. Her last name is Harbeson. Their only son, Leroy Jr., died while working for the railroad when their three girls were very young. His widow is Mildred Smith.
