The problem is that the Nathaniel W. Lumpkins that Don referred to (we have the same family connections),husband of Judith Bohannon, did not have a daughter named Isabella. I have always attempted to link this Nathaniel Wilson Lumpkin b. 1852 with our Nathaniel W. Lumpkin(s) b. 1815 many times unsuccessfully. Don and I still cannot trace his parentage. I have a document from 1845, a deed, which mentions that our Nathaniel rented property from Peyton Lumpkin. In 1850, both Nathaniel and Peyton independently have Weir family members in their homes, despite living some distance apart.

I am, like Don, looking into the Nancy (wife of "a" George Lumpkin) Lumpkin mentioned in the Pittsylvania Co 1850 census (Mike Williams, pg 45) as a possible parent, but the Peyton linkage as a parent ends with the 1820 census where he has no children in the home...our Nathaniel would be 5 in 1820. I noticed that the only Lumpkin family head
in 1820 that had a boy under 10 was...George Lumpkin.
