Govenor Lumpkin's Letters
Posted by: Alton Pitts (ID *****0401) Date: March 25, 2009 at 19:12:03

It is my understanding that Govenor Lumpkin's first wife was a half sister to Mary Sinquefield Ray and that Mary is mentioned in one or more of his letters. My ggggrandfather, Martin Pitts married Elizabeth Ray in Wilkes County, GA in 1812. There is a possiblilty that my Elizabeth may have been a daughter of Mary. Do any of you who have access to Govenor Lumpkin's letters know of anything that might help me prove or disprove that my Elizabeth was Mary's daughter? Thanks
