My ancestor, Martha Lester (daughter of Alexander Lester and Martha Cousins) was born in 1813 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. She married April 13, 1830 to John Lumpkin. Then, in November of 1834, she married my ancestor Larkin Gower Hardman. At first, I thought it was the younger John (aka Jack) Lumpkin. However, he was married to Anna and he died in 1839. Did she marry John Lumpkin who was first married to Lucy Hopson? He died in 1834 in Oglethorpe County, so the dates match up. Does anyone know which Lumpkin Martha married? She would have been only 17 years old at the time!
