I failed to mention John Lumpkin's absence in his father's 1806 will left in Oglethorpe Co, GA. I can only assume this may have been practical, since John did not live in the state, and clearly had a stable family with few needs in Pittsylvania. It's always possible that other family factors contributed to his being "cut out" of the will.
