I am interested in the parents of my grandfather, Edward B (E B) Lundgren, b. 16 July 1898 at 184 Franklin Street, Brooklyn, NY. On the birth certificate, his parents are listed as Bernhardt, age 36, born in Sweden and Augusta (nee Anderson), age 43, also born Sweden. He had two older brothers, George (b. 1891) and Alfred (b. 1893), and a younger brother, Richard, (b. aft. 1900). From the birth certificate, it appears that Augusta must have been previously married with a total of 8 children, 4 living, after E B's birth. On the 1900 census, they lived on Garnet Street in Brooklyn. Augusta died a few years later and Bernhardt died about 1920. After serving in the US Navy in WW I, E B moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he met and married my grandmother, Annie Linnea Matsson, in 1925. He died 22 Dec 1946.

Family tradition says that Bernhardt came from Skane in Sweden.
