I recently came across a passport application for Mrs. Betty Lundgren of Des Moines who was traveling to Sweden and Denmark in Mar 1923 to visit relatives and to travel. On this application she swears under oath that she was born in Hallens(Hallands), Lan, Sweden; that she was married 20 Oct 1900 to John W. Lundgren in Des Moines; that he was naturalized 18 Mar 1896 in Des Moines, and that he died 20 Mar 1920 in Des Moines. This can be accessed at ancestry.com if you have a membership. There is also a passport photo (not very good quality) and a physical description. I believe that she returned to the US in July 1923. You may be able to get John's birth location from his naturalization papers.

Your e-mail address is no longer good.
