Erroneous nformation on commercial websites and facebook

I just signed up for a 7 day free trail membership on one of the commercial genealogical websites. I immediately canceled. I found that the information concerning our Lundy ancestors preceding Richard I is both erroneous and misleading. For instance: They list the birth date of Sylvester I as 1632. They, then say that he had two sons named Sylvester. One son they have listed as being born in 1620 and dying in 1641. Obviously, he could not have been born before his father was. The 1641 date is correct as documented in the Chardstock Parrish Devon England, burial records. The 1620 date of birth is actually the date most often and accurately given for his father. There is no documentation for a second son named Sylvester. In addition they show Sylvester 1'st wife as Mary Lendon. Lendon is one of the misspellings of the name of Lundy on several documents. Another was Lindon. Lendon was not Mary's maiden name. Her maiden name is not known.
It is unfortunate that this forum has falling into disuse. Two decades or so ago it was the best means of getting information by exchanging it with people on a one-on-one basis . The commercial website and also facebook seem only to spread and perpetuate misinformation, especially about out UK ancestors, but then if that is wrong why believe any of the other entries. It seems a little ridiculous
to pay money and spend time getting erroneous information. If you do not require accuracy, why go through the efforts at all?
Due the efforts of two of our family's most ardent and diligent researcher's, Betty Lunday and Toni Blain Rogers (not to exclude William Jefferson Armstrong of course,) I have the best information available about our ancestors in the UK. Betty Lundy published three supplements to Armstrong's book and in addition spent a great deal of money having on-site research done in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset counties in England. Toni then published the results of that research in the 8th edition of the LUNDY NEWSPAPER in May of 1990. I have a copy of that edition.
I will be happy to send the important elements of that research to any really serious researcher. There is a considerable amount of information and I would send it only by e-mail. Again, I would request that only serious researchers respond.
