I am finally getting back to you. My information has it that Jacob WAS born in Bavaria. The children that I have listed of Fran Anton were: Jacob Anton (my gr-grandfather) b 6/7/1846 in Bavaria; Frank B b 8/7/1848 in Lebanon, PA; Mary A b 1849; Elizabeth b 1851 in Illinois; George b 1852-54; Theresa b 1855, IL; Rosa b 1858; and Catherine b 8/28/1860. Per you, John was the youngest--born in 1865. My questions to you are "where was he born--Il or Iowa?, who did he marry?, when and where did he die?" In 2004, I visited the SS Peter and Paul church and cemetery in Clear Creek Township, Keoto, IA. There are quite a few Lutz graves there:

1. Large gravestone with 4 small markers-
a. Clara O b 4/29/1894 d 1/18/1996
b. George E b 9/23/1888 d 3/8/1979
c. Dorothy K b 4/29/1894 d 12/15/1920 (twin to
Clara O)
d. Dorothy K b 10/5/1923 d 8/1/1929 (dau of
Clara ??? and named for Clara's twin??)
2. Large gravestone with 2 small markers
a. James F b 9/11/1917 d 1/15/1988
b. James F, Jr b 8/13/1953 d 7/27/1969
3. Father/Mother large monument
Frances A Lutz b 4/15/1823, d 5/31/1906
Catherine Lutz b 5/22/1922 d 2/27/1979
4 Margaret A Lutz dau of J & M (John and Mary??)
b 11/13/1890 d 9/29/1898
5. Catherine Lutz dau of J & M d 6/24/1885 age 13 yr
4 mos 24 days
6. Jacob L. Conrad b 7/29/1927 d 7/26/1905
Margaret b 10/18/1829
7. Liborius Conrad b 7/27/1806 d 1/12/1879
Rachel b 1810 d 2/15/1895

So, is the J&M mentioned in these gravestones your John and his wife? Was she named Mary?

If you want any more information on the direct lineage of Jacob A, please let me know
