Hi Sandra,
I just ran across a Frederick LUX in my searching in Wayne County, NY. He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Clyde, NY, dates 1801-1879. His wife Dorothy is buried there, too, 1804-1875.

I've been working on a group of families from Alsace to Wayne and Monroe Counties, and I found that a lot of them came from Rittershoffen, Leitersweiler and other towns in that area north of Strasburg. I know there are relations between a lot of families that are marriages as well as neighbors. Frederick LUX was a character reference on the naturalization of my gr-gr-great grandfather Barnhart FEIOCK in 1846. Barnhart was also born in Leitersweiler.

Let's exchange information. I have seen the HAASS name in records of Rittershoffen, too (records for Leitersweiler were included with those of Rittershoffen for some time.)

Jen Cranch
