In 1900 and 1910, Gerhard is in the township next door to Joseph.

Not of my lines so I can't be of help on the relationships to other Lux families. However, since Joseph is Oct 1848 and Gerhard is Apr 1854 this pretty well rules out a father/son relationship.

Good hunting, Frank
