Though not of my lines, I had done some other Lux research. I came across your post with Leroy when I checked the Lux board.
1900 Federal Census for Donipham County, Kansas, South Half of Wolf River Township, ED 49, Page 3B, 50/50
William Lux, Head, Jan 1851, 49, M, 27, IN, TX, IN, Farming
Emma R., Wife, Nov 1849, 50, M, 27, 5, 4, IN, TN, IN
William H., Son, Feb 1880, 20, KS, IN, IN, Farm Laborer
LeRoy C., Son, Nov 1885, 14, KS, IN, IN, At School
Based on you post, I went to Clark County and found only one Lux.
1850 Federal Census for Clark County, Indiana, Monroe Township, 181/181
William Lux, Head, 21, IN, Cooper (lots of Coopers in the township)
Sarah, Wife, 23, IN
John J., 1, IN
I then looked for possible parents in Indiana. Again, this William is only a possible.
1850 Federal Census for Jackson County, Indiana, Hamilton Township, 45/45
William G. Lux, Head, 47, Farmer, KY,
Mary A., Wife, 39, OH
Mary C., Dau, 20, IN
Martha J., Dau, 18, IN
John K., Son, 16, IN
Adaline, Dau, 15, IN
Eliza, Dau, 12, IN
Jacob, Son, 10, IN
Racel, Dau, 8, IN
Alexander C., Son, 6, IN
? Taylor, Son, 3, IN
Peter and George Lux are both from France and are not old enough. Jacob Lux if from Germany and is also too young.
Hope this helps.
Good hunting, Frank
