Luxtons in England tell me that the name is most predominant in Devon. There are also Luxtons in North Cornwall and Cardiff, Wales.

Loxton is a Scottish name and is found in the Edinburgh area. Early property records in Texas also show Luxton spelled this way.

Lux (light) certainly is the root word for the name.
