Catherine, I hope that you are still around. Franciska Lux married Michael Engel in 1858 in downstate Illinois. I have been looking for them because they are listed as witnesses to the marraige of my great grandparents in chicago in 1875. My great grand mother was originally named Marie Engel but changed it to Mary. My great grandfather was Nicholaus Flammang. We had a very dysfunctional family and I never got to know any Flammangs outside of my immediate family-- and I never knew my dad's father either. Consequently, I have been looking high and low for answers. My great grandparents each came to the u.s. separately from luxembourg, or the alsace lorraine area of france. Nicholaus died early also. Can you give me any help with this?
Robin Flammang--- I am in the chicago area.
