Peter John [Pierre] Gengler was born November 29, 1842 in Roodt. He and some of his siblings innitially immigrated to Wisconsin. He and his brother Peter went to Chicago to work. There Pierre married Catherina [probably at St. Michaels Catholic Church - that's where their oldest child was baptized]. Pierre and family along with brother Peter then went to homestead in MN. Brother Peter returned to Chicago stating MN was too cold. They are the sons of Joseph [Jacob] Gengler whom I believe may have been born in Roth. Their mother was Margaret Oerplding/Erpelding, she was from Roodt. Joseph's parents were Johannes and Anna Marie[Koob] Gengler.

Peter John's wife was Catherina Feris/Feres who was from Ell.
