Looking for descendants of the STEPHANY/STEPHANI family of Remich, Luxembourg (and other cities in the Moselle Valley area) to compare lineages and notes.
My connection to the STEPHANY family of Remich is:
Michel STEPHANY born 1805 in Remich, son of Michel STEPHANY and Anna LUDIG (or LUDWIG?).
Michel STEPHANY (b. 1805) married Magdalaine RAUEN of Canach, Luxembourg, daughter of Jean (or Johannes) RAUEN and Ann Marie (or Anna Maria) SCHOLTES.
Michel and Magdelaine had two sons:
1) Michel STEPHANY born 7 Dec 1828 in Remich, Luxembourg - married 15 Feb 1858 to Catherine MULLER (daughter of Pierre MULLER and Anne RICHARD) in Nobressart, Belgium.
2) Jean STEPHANY born 27 Feb 1832 in Canach, Luxembourg, married 22 March 1859 to Anne SCHMIT (daughter of George SCHMIT and Marguerite MULLER) in Nobressart, Belgium.
Surname spelling later changed from STEPHANY to STEFFANY after immigration from Luxembourg to Heinstert, Belgium.
