You are correct. Christopher and John Jay were first cousins and married Melick girls.
Thank you, didnt know for sure they were sisters. John Jay was my great great GF along with Edmund Vaughan (yr reply yesterday to my niece Larra). I dont have more info on Christopher, Charlotte or Elizabeth )1845-) except that Elizabeth was the younger sister of my g-grandfather, Alexander, d/o and Nancy Anne McLaughlin. Matthias Elmore (1864-1929 was my grandfather and married Mary Emily Vaughan d/o Edmund Vaughan and
Mary Putnam. Is any of this familiar? Also my aunt d/o Matthias & Emily was Minnie Mae. I also have a first cousin (living) named Barbara Elnora. Looks like a definite connection to me. I dont know if Grandma Lymburner had brothers but I do know of 5 sisters and I will get the list of their names out and let you know if any of this connects. This is great as I have wanted to start putting this together about the Vaughans. Are the names Putnam, Crotz, Zumstein, familiar to you? Look forward to hearing from you.
