Thank you for all the work the rest have done on the Matthew Lymburner of Canada line.
I am new at this kind of work. I wonder if any of you could help me out.
I am a descendant of Matthew and Margaret's son William.
From a Bible birth record he was born on May 19, 1786. Some of you seem to believe that he had a twin Robert. (What is your source for this information?
In the Lymburner cemetery in Burford Twp. there is a tombstone that reads "In Memory of Robert Lymburner who died Sept. 26, 1849."
He was 65 years, 3 months and 6 days old.
(This puts him born on June 20, 1784 and older than William.)
Robert and William both were in the Burford Militia during the War of 1812 and both had land next to one another. They had earlier been given land by the crown in Etobicoke.
Question 2 is in regards to where Matthew I is buried. In Kilmarnock Scotland there is an inscription on the Lymburner stone stating:
Mathew Lymburner, Esq.
Late of Canada
Who died in Edinbourgh,
17th of February, 1812
In the 87th year of his age.
Which Matthew Lymburner is this?
Who did Matthew marry? There seems to be some disagreement on who Margaret was?
If Margaret married a second time what was her new surname?
If any of you wish any more information on either the Robert or William line I would be quite happy to give it to you.
