Matthew Lymburner of Canada

Matthew Lymburner II, son of Matthew Lymburner I and Margaret Glen, was born at Templeton, near Kilmarnock, Scotland in 1765, and came with his parents to America in 1767, settling in Penobscot, Maine. (now Brooksville) In 1783 the family went to Nova Scotia, Canada and settled near St. Andrews. Matthew II married Rachel Young. Late in the fall of 1795 they left St. John, New Brunswick and made their way by boat to Newark, Upper Canada (now called Niagara, Ontario)and from there to Short Hills, and finally to the Chippewa River to Caiston Township, Lincoln County, Ontario. Children of Matthew and Rachel:
1. Mattheew III, b. New Brunswick 1791.
2. Jacob, b. N.B. 1793.
3. Christopher, b. N.B. 1795.
4. Michael, b. Ontario 1802.
5. Hiram, b. Ontario 1804.
6. William, b. 1808.
7. Robert, b. 1810.
8. Carolyn, b.1812.
9. Johnny, b. 1813.
