Evelyn -

Thanks for the information on the other marriages of Samuel J. Linam. As to your question of how I'm related to Sam, as far as I know, I'm not. There were two Linam families in South Carolina at the time of the Revolutionary War: George Linam of Union District (later County) and Morris (or Maurice) Linam of Sumter County. Both served in the war and had large families that, insofar as I can tell, are not connected. Some researchers have hypothesized that they might be brothers, but there is no evidence to support this. George Linam was my 4th GGF. I suspect that Samuel Linam is related to the Morris Linam clan (simply because I haven't previously identified him in the George Linam genealogy). I'm interested in the Morris Linam descendants merely in the hope that some day we will establish a link between the two families. Jim
