I had given up on anybody ever replying to my post, so good to hear from you. As far as I am aware the Lynam name goes back to mid 1800's in Dundee. However my sister has done a fair bit of research and she is soon to be on line, so I will direct her to this web site and I suspect she will add some more info. From what I understand my branch of the family originated in the west coast of Ireland where the name is very common.
