Hello Ms. Thomas,
I just looked on the net for Linam and found this site. I happened to find a 1850 census in the local library from Wilcox County, Alabama. There are Linams that are listed as coming from South Carolina and staying in Wilcox County in 1850. It appears that they had slaves. I'm not much of a geneology buff, but if I can help, let me know. My immediate family are the only Linams that I know. My Great Uncle Henry was the president of Standard Oil Company of Venzuela in the '30's. My dad says that he's the one who discovered oil in South America. I once read an article on him in World Oil, an oil field magazine. Maybe it's true.
