I found the following obit in a cigar box kept by my grandfather and felt that I should share the info. He wrote 2/26/64 on the obit.
HILLSBORO FARMER, LANDOWNDER DIES
Boone Kissick Lynam, who had marked his 85th birthday just twelve days ago, died yesterday at 7:40 am at his home near Hillsboro.
Mr. Lynam had been ill for nearly seven months and his condition had been grave for the past 30 days. Death was attributed to complications and the infirmities of age.
A prominent landowner and retired farmer of the Hillsboro community, Mr. Lynam had spend most of his life in that community. He was born in Rowan county, the son of the late Albert and Almira Kissick Lynam. His birth date was February 13, 1879.
Mr. Lynam was a long time member of the Grange City Christian church and had been very active in church affairs until ill health forced him to halt his outside interests.
A good Christian man who lived by the teachings of his faith, Mr. Lynam was extremely kind and generous to his fellowman. He was noted throughout Fleming county for his honesty and integrity.
Surviving are his wife Vina Keernans Lynam; six sons, Rupert, Titusville, Fla., Elmer, Covington, Kelly and Raleigh, Bethel O., Thomas Mt. Vernon, N.Y., Bruce, Lancaster, Pa.; two daughters, Elen, at home and Mrs. Velma Fox, Nashville, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Grange City Christian church at 2 pm Wednesday with the Rev. Myron Barnett officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jess Moore, Noel Walton, Kelly Story, Emery Anderson, Corbett Jefferson and Riley Newman.
The remains are at the Hutton Funeral home, Hillsboro, where friends may call after 2 pm today.
