Valerie - Don't know whether you're still monitoring this site, since you apparently got no responses to your query. I was interested in whether you are actually doing research in England or just trying to pin down the English side of the family. I've been trying to do the latter. My 4th GGF was George Linam, reportedly born in Maryland or Delaware. Names in the family lead me to believe he might have been Quaker. That led me to John & Margaret of Philadephia, but I've never been able to identify any of their children. I know John was reportedly from Derbyshire. Could be a connection. I've also looked at the Linams in Bedfordshire, and the Christian names are very similar. Any ideas? Jim
