Kay - As I was putting everything away, I took a closer look & found a bit of circumstantial evidence that may help you. In 1970, my sister interviewed Tom P. Linam, the son of Thomas Wade Linam. Tom was Superintendent of Schools in Paris, TX, at the time. He had the following to say about Wade Hampton Linam:

"Tump" came to Texas as a very young man and settled at Franklin (Robertson Co). He lived there until he retired from farming and moved to Waco. Tump was born and reared at Pickens, MS. Tump's brother Mass (John Buford Linam) moved from Pickens at the same time and settled at Victoria, TX.

My sister added that the tax list for Robertson County, TX, in 1873 listed both J.B. Linam and W. H. Linam. Since 1873 was the year before your Grandmother was born, it seems likely that she was born in Robertson County, TX.

Regards, Jim
